Building on This Skill a Little More:

A fun idea after they learn some of the ins and outs of letter writing is to find them a pen pal.

This can be a friend their age, a family member who lives far away, or a child you find online through several pen pal programs.

For younger students, I suggest sticking with the traditional snail mail option because it has such a special touch, but as they get older you can have them switch to e-mail where they can practice their typing skills.

Some easy topics they can write about are their favorite things, places they have or would like to visit, or what they are learning about in school.

The best part about writing letters is they can include fun messages or drawings plus they don’t have to always be formal.
